Lips
Beautiful, defined lips that last

Your lips are one of your most expressive features, and at Becky Gough Beauty, I offer exceptional Lip Blush treatments to enhance their natural beauty.
Lip Blush is a semi-permanent makeup technique that adds a subtle, natural-looking tint to your lips, creating fullness, definition, and an even tone that lasts.

Over time, it's natural for our lips to lose some of their definition and colour. Factors like aging, environmental exposure, certain lip products, or excessive dryness can all contribute to this gradual fading. Even the stretching of skin from lip fillers can sometimes lead to lips losing their natural pigmentation.
My approach is gentle and restorative, helping you regain that youthful, healthy look without any stress or pressure.

Lip Blush

Rediscover the beauty of your lips with our transformative Lip Blush treatment. This semi-permanent makeup technique involves carefully implanting pigments into the skin to create a natural flush of colour that enhances your lips' natural shape and tone.

The Lip Blush treatment can be customised to your preference—from a subtle, natural tint that gives your lips a just-bitten look to a more defined, vibrant colour. The result is beautifully enhanced lips that appear fuller, more symmetrical, and perfectly coloured without the need for daily lipstick application.

My Lip Blush treatment is about making your lips even, creating the illusion of volume, and ensuring that the colour stays put in any situation so that all you need is a dab of lip balm or gloss and you're ready to go! It's the perfect way to restore shape and fullness lost with age and transform thin or uneven lips.

Your Lip Blush Treatment
Like my microblading services, Lip Blush treatments follow a 2-stage process to ensure beautiful, long-lasting results:

-
Your initial treatment. During this appointment, I will create the base work for your enhanced lips, carefully applying pigment to achieve your desired colour and shape.
-
Your touch-up session. Scheduled 4-6 weeks after your initial treatment, this appointment allows me to check how the pigment has settled and make any necessary adjustments to ensure even, long-lasting results.

To help ensure you get the best results from your treatment, I ask all clients to complete a consent form. Here you can find comprehensive information on what to expect, including pre-care, the technique itself, what happens during your appointment, and aftercare instructions.
Ahead of your treatment, you will receive a patch test, which I can send to you directly in the post, or you can visit my at-home salon. This ensures you're not allergic to any products before beginning your treatment.

I prioritise your safety and satisfaction at all times, following strict hygiene standards and using only sterile, disposable tools to guarantee a safe and comfortable experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the treatment take? Depending on the size of your lips and the style chosen, initial treatments typically range from 2-3 hours from start to finish. This includes time for consultation, numbing, colour selection, and the procedure itself. Touch-up sessions and top-ups take less time, usually between 60-90 minutes. Each procedure is fully customised to produce the best results based on your individual features and preferences.
Can I have lip fillers and Lip Blush? Yes, but timing is important. You must allow 4 weeks between lip injections and permanent makeup due to healing requirements. If you have migrated filler, I would recommend having it dissolved before proceeding with Lip Blush. If you're planning to have both lip filler and Lip Blush, it's generally best to have the lip filler first, allowing it to settle, and then I can enhance your new shape with Lip Blush.
Does the treatment hurt? Your comfort is my priority. I apply a topical numbing cream to your lips beforehand, which significantly reduces discomfort. Throughout the treatment, I'll check in with you regularly and adjust as needed. While the treatment is a mild form of tattooing, so some sensation is to be expected, most clients find it quite tolerable. The numbing cream remains effective throughout the procedure to ensure your comfort.
How will I look immediately after the treatment? Immediately after treatment, your lips will look as if lipstick or gloss has been applied—the exact colour intensity depends on which shade was chosen. Some swelling is normal as the skin has been worked on, but this will settle over the next few days. The colour will initially appear quite vibrant but will soften by about 30-50% as healing progresses. I provide full aftercare instructions both verbally and in writing to guide you through the healing process.
Can I have Lip Blush if I have a history of cold sores? If you have a history of cold sores or herpes, the procedure could potentially trigger an outbreak. I recommend taking prescribed anti-viral medication in advance of your appointment as a preventative measure. Please note that cold sores can affect the healed results of your Lip Blush, so it's important to manage this condition before treatment. I can provide guidance on timing your treatment appropriately.
What should I expect during the healing process? The healing process typically follows these stages: Days 1-2: Lips may appear swollen and intensely coloured Days 3-4: Possible peeling or flaking begins as the skin heals Days 5-7: Colour appears to fade significantly as new skin forms Days 14-42: True colour gradually returns as healing completes Full aftercare instructions will be provided both in writing and verbally upon completion of your treatment. I'll explain how to care for your lips during healing, including keeping the area clean, avoiding certain products, and protecting your lips from sun exposure to ensure optimal results.
How do you choose the right colour for me? Colour selection is a collaborative process. I consider your natural lip colour, skin tone, personal preferences, and the look you want to achieve. During your consultation, we'll discuss various shade options and I'll help guide you toward colours that will complement your features beautifully. We can also customise the intensity of the colour, from very subtle to more vibrant, depending on your desired outcome.
How long do the results last? With proper aftercare, Lip Blush results typically last 1-3 years, though this varies from person to person. Factors affecting longevity include skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare routine, medications, and how strictly the aftercare advice is followed. Touch-up treatments help maintain your results and extend the life of your Lip Blush. Annual maintenance sessions are recommended for keeping the colour fresh and vibrant.
Is there any downtime after the treatment? While there's no significant downtime that prevents normal activities, your lips will be in the healing process for about 7-10 days. During this time, you may experience swelling, tenderness, and flaking or peeling. I recommend scheduling your treatment when you don't have any major social events planned for at least a week afterward. Most clients find they can return to normal activities immediately, though the lips will be healing.
